Dr. Katie Arntzen grew up in Maynard, a small town in Massachusetts and currently resides in North Hero, Vermont. She had a variety of pets growing up and knew from a very early age that she wanted to become a veterinarian. Dr. Arntzen received a bachelor's degree in Biology from Union College in Schenectady, NY in 2008. She then went on to attend veterinary school at Tufts University. During her time there, she worked at their wildlife clinic, helping to care for sick and injured wildlife. She also spent time in South Africa working with a wildlife veterinarian caring for elephants, lions, and rhinos.
Following her graduation from Tufts in 2012, Dr. Arntzen completed a one-year veterinary internship in Tucson, Arizona to further her training. Since then she has worked in small animal practices in Arizona, Vermont, and Virginia. Dr. Arntzen is happy to be back in New England close to friends and family. Her professional interests include urgent care, dermatology, dentistry, and caring for pocket pets. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Vermont Veterinary Association.
Dr. Arntzen and her husband share their home with their two cats, Buttons and Gweny, and their terrier rescue dog, Peaches. When she is not busy working, Dr. Arntzen enjoys skiing in the winter and spending time on the lake in the summer.
